Olfactory Dérive — Stația Scai Artistic Residency (2026). Site-specific olfactory research and participatory practice.
Developed during the In Non-Prescriptive Gardens residency at Stația Scai, Olfactory Dérive investigates the Maidanul Academiei Române through scent, sensory observation and movement.
Drawing on Guy Debord’s Situationist concept of the dérive, the route remains open, shaped by olfactory cues, sensory encounters and the contingencies of the site. The practice moves through four stages — Drift, Olfactory Situations, Entanglements and Traces — exploring the relationships between spontaneous vegetation, human activity and the shifting sensory identity of an urban territory.
