// BREAD ACCORD / olfactory installation for Romanian Peasant Museum — 11.2024
‘MOSTRAR’ COLLECTIVE CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITION / MNTRplusC Gallery / Romanian Peasant Museum
The piece highlights the potential of biomaterials, using them to evoke both memory and ritual. Inspired by the MOSTRAR’s practical role as a tablecloth – a meal setting, this piece is crafted from biomaterials derived from wheat grain remnants: husks, bran, and other plant residues, along with bioresins and waxes. These natural byproducts form the structure, bringing their inherent scent and creating a premise ingrained in sustainability. The olfactory experience is layered, as the object not only carries the natural aroma of its biomaterial composition but also hosts another curated natural fragrance, an invisible aestheticised version of freshly baked bread. This installation celebrates the essence of the meal as a center-of-the-house ritual.
